Red Wing Pottery

Red Wing Pottery was founded in 1877 in Red Wing, Minnesota by David Hallem. They were known as the Red Wing Stoneware Company at the time and changed their name to Red Wing Union Stoneware Company in 1906.

They were one of the largest producers of utilitarian pottery and stoneware items in the United States, including stoneware jugs and canning jars.

During the 1920’s, they started making a line of art pottery, due to the decline in demand for stoneware, and changed their name to Red Wing Potteries Inc. in 1936.

During the 1930’s, they started making hand-painted dinnerware which was sold in department stores, mail-order catalogs and gift stamp centers. As dinnerware production slowed, they made china for hotels and restaurants.

They stopped making stoneware all together in 1947 but continued to produce planters, vases, cookie jars and dinnerware until they closed for good in 1967.

I think what I have is a stirrup handle double vase. IThe outside is a greenish/brown flecked color and the inside is yellow. Base to top of handle is approx. 8″. It says Red Wing USA and B1428 the bottom. Wondering what it’s worth today.
    Thanks,
    Char Krahling

15 gal.water cooler. From old school house. It has an inlet for the water and water spigot in the front. Inside is the glass ball to stop the water when it was so full. It has a daisy lid with a Wood and wire handle. I see no scratches or brakes anywhere. We are trying to downsize and would like to sell this but have no idea how much it would be worth. Can you help on this? Thank you for your time and attention I appreciate it!

I have a solid almost delft blue curvy shaped milk pitcher with curved handle, 7 3/8” tall. Fat belly style with slight swirl pattern in mold itself. Has “735…Red Wing…USA” on bottom. Was always used as fresh milk pitcher on grandmothers table in San Angelo, Texas I thought from at least the 1920s to 1940s or so. My dad said it was always on the table as he grew up. Born in 1923. Trying to get value now for my children.
