Mdina Glass was founded in 1968, in Malta, by Michael Harris. He was a former tutor at the Royal College of Art. Mdina produced art glass, bowls, glassware, vases and much more.

Pieces are usually made of thick glass with marbled colors. “Fish” is one of the most popular patterns. Colors are usually blues, greens and browns.
Harris left the company in 1972 and founded the Isle of Wight Studio Glass that same year. Michael Harris died in 1994 but his son Timothy and widow Elizabeth continue to run Isle of Wight Studio Glass. Mdina continues to produce his designs today.
In 1975, Joseph Said became the company’s Production Manager and in 1985, he bought Mdina Glass and is also Managing Director.
His daughters Nevise, Olivia and Pamela work for the company as well. Nevise is in charge of exports and local sales, Olivia is in charge of production and product development and Pamela manages the retail section. His son, Alan, also works for the company.
